The Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny proudly commemorate 50 glorious years of their dedicated service at Little Flower School in Telco, Jamshedpur on 5 July 2025. This Golden Jubilee marks five decades of unwavering commitment to holistic education, community service to the poor and marginalized, and spiritual guidance, in the spirit of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey.
The Sisters gratefully acknowledge the steadfast encouragement and support of the Tata Motors management over the years, especially Tata Cummins and Tata Power, for their vital financial and technical assistance. Their belief in the Cluny Sisters’ mission has played an integral role in the school’s journey of excellence.
From humble beginnings in 1975, when the administration was handed over to the pioneering Cluny Sisters—Sr. Cecilia Kenny, Sr. Andrea D’Cruz, and Sr. Marie Cecilia Shen—the Little Flower Convent has grown into a beacon of knowledge, truth, and love. The Sisters were especially blessed to have Sr. Marie Cecilia travel from Kalimpong to be present at the celebration.
Throughout the decades, inspiring leaders have shaped the school’s legacy:
Sr. Helena Egan, who led for nearly three decades, expanded infrastructure, introduced +2 classes and modern science labs, and instilled values that powered consistent academic excellence. Sr. Savio is remembered for founding Cluny Preparatory School and nurturing early-childhood education. Sr. Hilda D’Souza, the current Principal and Superior, has revitalized the school’s academic, sports, and vocational programs, championing NEP-2020 initiatives, digital innovation, and AI-based learning environments.
The school’s infrastructure today boasts of a cutting-edge AI Lab, Cummins Library, Timken Hall, and an air-conditioned auditorium with modern sound systems. Sports facilities like basketball and volleyball courts, and spaces for creativity and skill-building, reinforce the Cluny Sisters’ belief in all-round development.
Cluny education has always stood for more than academics—it embodies service, character-building, and the nurturing of young minds to be compassionate citizens. The legacy of the Cluny Sisters is etched in every corridor, classroom, and graduate of Little Flower School.
“To serve with love, to educate with care, and to uplift with hope — this has been our mission for 50 years, and it will continue to be our promise.”— Sr. Hilda D’Souza, Principal, Little Flower School
Present on this momentous occasion were Rt. Rev. Telesphore Bilung SVD, Bishop of Jamshedpur Diocese, Sr. Sylvia (Provincial), Sr. Marie Cecilia, and Cluny Sisters from across Kolkata and Jharkhand, along with generous benefactors, alumni, teachers, parents, and well-wishers whose love and faith continue to guide the Cluny Sisters.
